How to properly care for green peanuts:
Upon receipt of your order, please inspect them for any white molding that may have occurred during shipping. With any fresh produce, there can occur some molding or discoloration on the product. There is no harm associated with this if you order is received within 2 days of shipping. The most immature peanuts have the shortest shelf life without refrigeration. Simply remove any moldy peanuts, leaving the rest excellent for boiling. Also note to refrigerate peanuts immediately upon receipt.

How to properly care for boiled peanuts:
You need to place the boiled peanuts in refrigeration as soon as you can to keep them from spoiling. They last in refrigeration for about a week once opened, if kept in sealed bag the shelf life is 28 days. If you are not going to eat them within a week or two when purchasing them just put them in the freezer and they can be warmed up for future eating.

How to blanch green peanuts for later use:
We take the green peanuts and boil them for 10-15 minutes, drain them of all liquid and cool them down and place in freezer. If you want to put the blanched peanuts back in the bushel bag just line the bushel bag with a trash bag to protect the peanuts from any freezer burn.

Our simple recipe for cooking green peanuts:
This basic recipe can be altered to your liking or taste and amount of peanuts you are boiling!
Add 5lbs of peanuts and 2/3 cups of non-iodized salt to 1 gallon of water. Boil on medium heat for 1 ½ hours or until tender keeping a check on water. After cooking allow peanuts to sit in the brine water or juice from boiled peanuts for added flavor. Drain and eat, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy. Boiled peanuts can be frozen.
